The coneflower with its beautiful golden yellow umbrellas looks like the little sister of the sunflower. The sun-yellow, long-stemmed inflorescences are ideal for late summer bouquets that last a long time in the vase. The coneflower prefers to grow in loose, water-retentive soil in a sunny to slightly shady spot. Cut when the flower heads are well open. TIP: Under favorable conditions, the plants overwinter and flower again the following year.
